We did a bit of litter picking at Rede Common on Saturday. We are pleased to say though that the place wasnt too bad. Afterwards we had a Christmas buffet at Margaret’s.

Thursday 24th August, rob, Rita and Len went down to Asda in Strood to collect a £50 cheque from the community officer following the green token collection. FORC would like to thanks all the people that put green tokens in community collection box.
The Friends of Rede Common are please to account that our burnt out bench has been replaced. Norse (Medway) has replaced the perspex in our notice board and our main vehicle access gate has at long last been fixed and now works properly.
The Friends of Rede Common are saddened to announce that we have had vandalism on the Hard Standing. It appears that a gang of people have spoiled all the new plants that we put in at the Sandy Banks Launch that we had over Easter. The tyres that we filled Read more…

The winter months can be very productive, but much will depends on the prevailing weather conditions. The familiar resident species will generally remain faithful to the site; the will however, also visit local gardens in search of food. At times the common can appear to be virtually devoid of birds!
