FORC were very grateful to be featured in the CommunityAd magazine. This week we promoted the common at St Nicholas Church fete.
This month friends of redecommon worked to our management plan clearing a pathway. This involved cutting back dead trees that were blocking the entrance into a woodland area. Meanwhile back on the hard standing the community payback team were clearing bramble.
On Saturday 21st April we checked out the new signs erected around the common. They look really nice and welcome people at all the main entrances into the site. People can now see clearly that we are a nature reserve, view a map of the site and get more of Read more…
Saturday 7th April the community payback team planted the hedgerow in lower columbine woodland edge. #IDIGTREES @TCVtweets #CommunityPayback The community payback team visited our common in March also and cleared a large area of bramble and also the moss encroaching onto the hard standing. Big thanks to all who attended.
Part of our management plan entails clearing areas of bramble that have taken over the common to protect the trees that we have. We have cleared an area ready for trees that were given to us from TCV.
Today it was drizzling and the common was very muddy. We received lots of new trees from the TCV but with the weather so bad we haven’t yet been able to pick locations for all of them. So for the time being we have heeled them in. Thanks to Rob Read more…
